I’m Sandro Dezerio, a senior fullstack engineer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have more than nine years of experience building web products and backend systems.

My day-to-day stack is TypeScript, React and Next.js on the front end, and Node.js and NestJS on the back end, with GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Terraform and AWS underneath. I also build automations with n8n and Claude.

I write about building software that holds up in production: what breaks, why it breaks, and how to fix it, with code that I have run. Right now that means background jobs and queues. After that, I’ll cover other parts of the backend, such as databases and API design, and whatever else I run into while building.

The first series is Reliable background jobs in Node.js, from zero. It has ten parts, and each one starts from something that breaks. The scenarios in the posts are made up. They never describe a real employer or client.

You can find me on LinkedIn and GitHub. If you spot a mistake in a post, message me on either and I will fix it.
